Donal Murray, PhD, CSCS

Assistant Professor of Health, Human Function, and Rehabilitation Sciences

 Dr. Donal Murray received his bachelor's degree in Sport & Exercise Science from the University of Limerick, Ireland (2012) followed by his Masters in Exercise Science from Central Michigan University (2014). While at CMU Dr. Murray was involved in research aiming to identify contributors to exercise associated muscle cramps. This introduction to research led Dr. Murray to pursue a PhD at George Mason University in Rehabilitation Science with a focus in applied exercise physiology. Dr. Murray currently serves as the director of GW’s Clinical and Applied Human Physiology Laboratory within the Department of Health, Human Function and Rehabilitation Sciences. Dr. Murray's research interests include appropriateness of exercise prescription and dosing as well as the role of fatigue and fatigability in exercise adherence and overall physical activity levels. Dr. Murray is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) & the Clinical Exercise Physiology Association (CEPA). Dr. Murray is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
